From the cabinet
A free guide, occasional letters, and the two shops where Dr. Rose's recommendations live.
Cabinet Medicine is the simple, creative practice of looking to the familiar cupboards and shelves of home for the first-line tools of healing. I started my professional life as a chef, and I believe health begins with what we put in our mouths — so the kitchen cabinet is my first medicine chest: whole foods, nourishing spices, teas, and potent culinary herbs that feed and heal.
The bathroom cabinet is the second stop for self-care: Epsom salts, castor oil, essential oils, and simple spa therapies that support nervous-system regulation and recovery. Then there’s the literal medicine cabinet where homeopathics, herbal tinctures, supplements, and any necessary pharmaceuticals live for more directed care. Cabinet Medicine is about noticing the everyday remedies already within reach and using them with curiosity, skill, and tenderness as the foundation of a larger, nature-centered healing practice.
